The Newcastle Robotics Laboratory is
an interdisciplinary research initiative of Computer Science & Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Statistics at The University of Newcastle, Australia.
Our robot soccer competition team - The NUbots - participated at RoboCup regularly since 2002. The NUbots competed in the RoboCup Four-Legged League 2002-2007 using Sony AIBO robots and won the Worldtitle at RoboCup 2006 in Bremen, Germany. They were placed second at the worldcups in 2005 and 2007, and third in 2002, 2003, and 2004. In 2008 they won the worldtitle in the RoboCup Standard Platform League using NAO robots as part of the NUManoid team. They were the 2011 Australian champions in the RoboCup Standard Platform League. In 2012 the NUbots started using the Darwin-OP platform and compete since then in the Kidsize Humanoid League at RoboCup.
